So, jetzt aber! Fujifilm hat heute am 21.11.2024 das lang erwartete Update für die angeblichen Autofokus-Probleme der X-H2, X-H2s und GFX100II veröffentlicht.

Ich möchte nicht die AF-Probleme leugnen, die andere Benutzer mit ihren Fujifilm-Kameras hatten. Bei mir sind sie nicht aufgetreten. Weder bei den Sportereignissen, die ich in diesem Jahr fotografiert habe, noch während zwei Wochen exzessiver Wildlife-Fotografie. Der Autofokus machte was er sollte, der Ausschuss durch den AF war < 5%

Meine obigen Ausführungen beziehen sich auf die X-H2s mit der Firmware Ver.7.00 und die X-H2 mit der Firmware Ver.5.00.

Damit will ich mit den Updates starten und zusätzlich das Update für den Batteriegriff FT-XH hinzufügen.

Firmware Details

Die Behebung des AF-Bugs ist in der Firmware enthalten und darüber hinaus eine Reihe neuer Features, die wiederum in Form eines Featureguides dokumentiert sind.

• Fujifilm X-H2, (Ver.5.10) von 5.00 mit zusätzlichem Featureguide für die neuen Funktionen der Firmware
• Fujifilm X-H2s, (Ver.7.10) von 7.00 mit zusätzlichem Featureguide für die neuen Funktionen der Firmware
• Fujifilm FT-XH, (Ver.2.20) von 2.11 mit “F-Log2 C” and “TIME CODE SYNC.SETTING” are now available with “Remote Rec Function”
• Fujifilm GFX100II, (Ver.2.30) von 2.21 mit zusätzlichem Featureguide für die neuen Funktionen der Firmware

Ich erspare mir die Übersetzung aus dem Englischen, möchte aber das eine oder andere kommentieren.

Die Änderungen der Firmware für die X-H2 und X-H2s.

1. „F-Log2 C“ has been added to the movie shooting menu.
   You can get more wider color gamut using „F-Log2 C“ mode than using „F-Log2“.
   The expanded color gamut allows for the reproduction of high chroma colors that was difficult to reproduce with “F-Log2” and expands the color editable range in ACES space and BT.709.

2. „TIME CODE SYNC. SETTING“ can now be synchronized with the time code of USB devices.
   This makes it easy to synchronize multiple movie clips at post-production during multi-camera shooting or separate audio recording. Moreover, „CONNECT TO ATOMOS AirGlu BT“ in the Quick menu and function buttons assignment menu is changed to „TIME CODE SYNC.SETTING“.

   Note：In addition to the Bluetooth connection with “Atomos UltraSync Blue”, „TIME CODE SYNC“ via USB-C connection with Ambient devices is now available

3. The AF algorithm has been partially revised to improve focusing accuracy and subject tracking performance
4. A firmware bug is fixed that some images get overexposed in rare cases when using „Burst Mode“
5. A firmware bug is fixed that the camera freezes when canceling „PRE-SHOT ES“ using „Burst Mode“
6. A firmware bug is fixed that the camera freezes when the movie recording time reaches 5 hours, 35 minutes and 30 seconds at movie recording
7. A firmware bug is fixed that the camera freezes in rare cases at still image shooting while holding down the AF-ON key when using „Burst Mode“

Während die meisten Fotografen wahrscheinlich auf den Punkt 3 des Firmware Update gewartet haben, hatte ich zweimal mit dem einfrieren der X-H2 zu kämpfen. Zuerst dachte ich, dass es am Batteriegriff liegen könnten, konnte aber das Problem einen Tag später auch ohne diesen Reproduzieren Möglicherweise war es auch eine Kombination aus 5 und 7, außerdem stand die Kamera einige Zeit in der Sonne (die am Äquator noch intensiver scheint).

Damit fehlt für mich nur noch die X-T5, welche den gleichen AF wie die X-H2 und X-H2s verwendet und damit ebenfalls zeitnah ein Update bekommen sollte.

Nun könnte man sagen: “Dein Leopard da oben, der geht ja nur”, das stimmt. Aber die Mutter des kleinen Gnus auf dem folgenden Bild fand den Versuch des Geparden nicht lustig und ist ihm voll in die Parade gefahren. Da hat die X-H2 acht scharfe Bilder in Serie gemacht und so gibt es für mich keinen Grund zur Klage (über die Ver.5.00)

An dieser Stelle und für diejenigen, die Probleme mit Firmware-Updates haben, mein Beitrag zur Anatomie der Firmware von Fujifilm.

Zum Einspielen der Updates werde ich nach wie vor den klassischen Weg über eine SD-Karte wählen. Funktioniert und macht keinen Ärger, persönlich würde ich sagen “Finger weg von der App” wenn es um Updates geht.
